A Call for Transformation: Our mission is catalyzing positive change so patient-physician relationships can flourish.
Medicine Forward began as a grassroots nonprofit in 2019 co-founded by Eric Topol in response to his seminal article in The New Yorker titled "Why Doctors Should Organize". The creation of the organization was driven by physicians to foster substantial improvements in medicine for the benefit of current and future generations. While our roots are in the physician community, our mission extends far beyond—it encompasses all stakeholders in healthcare, including healthcare workers, patient advocates, and healthcare leaders. We are committed to creating a holistic environment where all voices contribute to transformative change.

What We Believe
Our core hypothesis is that by engaging in a healthcare transformation accelerator model, we can significantly enhance the wellbeing and agency of healthcare professionals. This empowerment enables us to advocate more effectively for the systemic changes crucial to improving healthcare. However, true transformation requires the collaboration of diverse groups.

Our Approach
Physicians at Medicine Forward collaborate with a broad array of partners, including patient advocates and political leaders, forming a united front to instigate structural changes in how healthcare is delivered in the United States. This collaboration is pivotal to achieving improved health outcomes, advancing health equity, and enhancing the experience for doctors, healthcare workers, and patients alike.
Expanding Our Impact
Recognizing that the path to meaningful healthcare reform requires a collective effort, we invite change leaders from all sectors to join us. Whether you are a healthcare professional seeking to support your peers, an advocate looking to make a difference in healthcare systems, or a leader in healthcare transformation working toward holistic improvements, your contribution is vital.
Our Commitment
Until we unite a diverse spectrum of advocates to press for a fundamental reorganization of our medical system, our capacity to heal and promote health will not reach its full potential. Prioritizing those most in need and ensuring equitable healthcare for all requires a concerted, unified effort that encompasses a whole-systems perspective.
Medicine Forward is more than a coalition of physicians—it is a network of dedicated individuals committed to catalyzing health care transformation through unity, innovation, and shared purpose.
